Why I’m not loyal to a specific airline
“Why aren’t you loyal to one airline?” I get this question a lot. For as much as we’ve traveled, you’d think it would make sense to stick to one airline, one hotel chain, etc., in order to max out on travel points and miles. This may make sense to some people, but it hasn’t for us. And here’s why:
Why I don’t hate budget airlines
I just purchased two flights on two different budget airlines. They were some of the cheapest flights I’ve ever purchased. I’ve flown on one of the airlines before, and had a good experience. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews bashing budget airlines, and I just thought I would throw in my two cents as to why I don’t hate them, and why I think they’re great.
9 things you didn’t know you could pack in a carry-on
Not checking a bag means you have to be way more conscious of what you’re allowed and not allowed to bring on airplanes. Some countries have different requirements for what is permissible, and sometimes it totally depends on the whim of the TSA agent. However, there are things I bring that a lot of people are surprised I’m allowed to pack in my carry-on. Allow me to indulge you.
Tips for saving money at the airport
Airports are smart. They know you have to be there for hours on end and you will get thirsty, hungry and bored. They want you to indulge them for their $25 cheeseburgers and $15 magazines. Well, not this girl. Even when I budget to have plenty for the airport, it just sort of angers me that if I really need water, I have to pay $5 for a bottle that would only cost $.50 at a store. So, here are a few tricks I’ve learned to save some $.
A tip for finding cheaper airfare
Airfare. It’s the most expensive part of any trip. This means, I’m always scouring the internet looking for ways to save money on airfare. There are a lot of articles out there where travel hacks that offer tips to save money. However, some of these “travel hacks” appear a little too sketchy for my taste.
For example, one hack I read was to get a credit card with rewards, buy a gift card, then use the gift card to purchase a money order, then deposit the money order into the bank and use it to pay off the credit card. I mean…. I guess technically it’s not illegal. Maybe it’s just “scamming the scammer.” However, I just want to get a good deal on a plane ticket; not take a gateway drug to becoming a real money launderer.
