Traveling during the holiday season can be stressful. More crowds, more delays, and just overall more potential for frustration. I have traveled many times during holiday weekends and here are a few of my tips.
Road-tripping through the former Yugoslavia (aka the Balkans, aka the coast of the Adriatic, aka eastern Europe) was an incredible experience. There are so many sights to see, and cultures to explore, and of course you can’t see it all. This is what we did, how we did it and what we saw.
Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes and the world’s largest freshwater lake. It is moody, strong and deep. It’s cold, but clear. It’s deep, but clean. It looks different throughout the day and at different vantage points. It’s mysterious and rocky. It is something you want to see.
Charleston, West Virginia’s unofficial motto is “Hip, Historic, Almost heaven.” I was skeptical about this claim, but after spending a beautiful fall weekend there, I can confidently say it’s definitely hip and historic. As far as it being “almost heaven”, I’ll leave that up to you!
